Kirk Herbstreit Responds to Pat McAfee's Prediction for WVU/Penn State
USA TODAY Sports

West Virginia is a massive underdog for its Week 1 game against Penn State in Happy Valley. Nearly every national college football analyst believes the Mountaineers will get rolled by what should be a top-10 Penn State team to open the season.

But there's one BIG analyst who isn't buying the hype and in fact, is all in on the Mountaineers winning and doing so comfortably.

Okay, maybe it's because he's biased, but hey, former WVU kicker/punter Pat McAfee is standing up for his alma mater, telling his former NFL teammate AQ Shipley that West Virginia will "run over" Penn State.

His ESPN colleague, Kirk Herbstreit found the prediction hilarious. And to be honest, I kind of agree with Kirk on this one. I'm not saying West Virginia can't waltz into Happy Valley and win, but "running over" Penn State isn't happening.

But hey, I've been wrong before. And so has Kirk when it comes to picking against WVU in the underdog role. Just ask him about the 2012 Discover Orange Bowl, for example.
