Florida State National Champion and former NFL player Kenny Shaw held his annual R.A.W. Youth Camp in Orlando, FL, over this past weekend. Shaw called on numerous former Seminoles to join him as guest coaches for the outing to provide the campers with knowledge and life experiences.

Before the event, Shaw hosted a banquet at Camping World Stadium, drawing many former players and leaders throughout the Orlando community.

The acronym, R.A.W, stands for "Resilient Athletes Worldwide," a homage to Shaw's professional football career and the importance of playing through adversity. While also lending focus to youth and community support for football players of all ages, the camp offered a chance to help build a strong foundation of fundamentals and integrity while allowing young adults to get up close in person with some of their heroes.

Among the 'Noles involved were QB Jameis Winston, RB Karlos Williams Sr., FB Lonnie Pryor, S Terrence Brooks, FB Ebo Entsuah, FB William Floyd, OT Daniel Foose, LS Phil Doumar, DT Eric Hayes, along with many other talented athletes.

The camp was broken into two sessions, one for some younger campers and the other for older ones. It kicked off with the coaches introducing themselves to campers which drew applause.

"What these kids are getting today is a historic day, and again, I'm just grateful to be out here in some coach shoes and to be out here in your city and put on an event like this," Winston said to the local media before the camp.

Participants and coaches then split into individual stations by position group, each giving a critique on technique and explaining their position while sprinkling life advice to the area's youth.

Stressing the importance of perseverance, Shaw wanted to let the kids know that becoming a division one athlete isn't something that comes easy. It takes dedication and consistency.

"D1 don't come overnight. D1 takes some sacrifices. D1 takes putting that phone down at night; no TikTok. Do y'all get what I'm saying? And lastly, figure out y'all why right now. Why are you playing this game? Why y'all want to get out of some of y'all's situations? Just trust the process."

It seemed deeper to every coach in attendance, and most importantly, Shaw himself, who saw his youth camps and being able to impact kids in different ways as preparation for fatherhood.

"I wanted to thank y'all because before I had this one on top of my head," Shaw said, pointing to his toddler on his shoulders while addressing the camp, "[It] kind of made me a better father before I became a father, so I wanted to thank y'all truthfully as a coach, mentor, whatever y'all consider me because y'all helped me out in this process."
