Bryce Young recounts his favorite play of Alabama career
Gary Cosby Jr. / USA TODAY NETWORK

The Potential No. 1 overall pick in the 2023 NFL Draft, Bryce Young discussed his favorite play of his Alabama football career during a recent interview on “The Pivot” podcast.

Young made many memorable plays throughout his career in Tuscaloosa. When asked to name a play he felt really good about, he pointed to a fourth down touchdown throw to Cameron Latu in Alabama’s loss to Tennessee.

“I don’t know if it’s the most like impressive, but the play I say that I felt probably the most, like okay, like, yeah,” Young said. “It was Tennessee. It’s like, if you watch it on film, it’s not that it’s like, but it’s not a crazy play. But I was really like, that was probably the best I had felt in a moment. It was in the red area. It was a fourth down. We had like two or three third downs that drive. Like one of those hard-fought. it’s later in the game. It’s a shootout, super hostile environment. It’s like what you live for and we get blitz zero. It’s fourth down and goal, we get blitz zero. Shout out to JC on this, my right tackle. He actually is crazy. He actually like low-key blocks two people at once off the edge because it’s zero. We didn’t have enough to pick everything up, but I’m trying to get to my to my tight end, and I step up in the pocket and there is someone on top of me, so I redirect. And then my tight end, Cam (Latu), he redirects back with me, and I dumped the ball off to him over the middle. It was a touchdown on fourth down. I don’t know why I threw it and like, I turned around and ran back before it got there. I don’t know what made me do that. Like, I’ve never, I hadn’t in the game, like done that before.”
