Watch: Fight breaks out between South Carolina, LSU during SEC title game

Tempers flared between No. 1 South Carolina and No. 8 LSU during the tail end of Sunday's SEC championship game.

Following a few heated moments throughout the game, things erupted with 2:08 left in the second half after an intentional foul by LSU's Flau'jae Johnson led to pushing and shoving from both sides.

A fan, reportedly Johnson's brother, leaped over the scorer's table and onto the floor before being ejected from the arena.

On the South Carolina side, Saturday's hero, Kamilla Cardoso, was among the players ejected after being seen shoving Johnson hard to the floor.

Meanwhile, with both benches clearing, officials ejected almost every remaining backup, meaning LSU and South Carolina had to finish the game with five and six players apiece.

Ultimately, it took officials over 20 minutes to work out fouls and ejections.

The scuffle will cost the Gamecocks in the opening round of the NCAA Tournament, as Cardoso will be ineligible after being kicked out for fighting.

Meanwhile, players who left the bench aren't expected to receive additional penalties and should be available to play.

Once the dust settled, South Carolina emerged victorious in the game, 79-72, winning the program's eighth SEC tournament championship in 10 years.
