On Wednesday morning, Penn State received their fourth transfer commitment of the offseason.

Following a recent official visit, Tennessee transfer guard Freddie Dilione announced his intentions to join Mike Rhoades and the Nittany Lions.

The former On3 four-star recruit, spent one season in Tennessee before deciding to enter the transfer portal. Last season, Dilione played in 18 games and averaged 1.7 points, 0.8 assists in 5.2 minutes per game. His minutes and development were hampered by a partially torn left plantar fascia that forced him to miss three weeks in November.

The 6’5″, 180-pound sophomore from Fayetteville, North Carolina was rated as one of the Top 30 overall players in the Class of 2022 and signed with the Vols over other offers from Alabama, UConn, Georgia, Georgia Tech, Houston, Indiana, LSU, Maryland, Minnesota, NC State, Penn State, Pitt, Providence, Seton Hall, Rutgers, Texas, Texas A&M, Virginia, Virginia Tech, Wake Forest and Xavier.

This offseason, Rhoades and his staff have added Xavier transfer Kachi Nzeh, Northern Illinois transfer Yanic Konan Niederhouser and Nebraska transfer Eli Rice along with a four-man Class of 2024. The key with the transfers is that all four additions have two or more years of eligibility remaining.

The addition of Dilione gives Penn State a full allotment of 13-scholarship players.

The Nittany Lions will be looking to improve on Rhoades‘ first season in State College, as they went 16-17 overall and 9-11 in the Big Ten.
