Patrick Ewing upset after being stopped by MSG security
Brad Penner-USA TODAY Sports

Patrick Ewing was flying high following Georgetown’s upset win over Villanova in the Big East Tournament. After taking down the Wildcats, Ewing told the FS1 postgame broadcast, “This is my house!”

Ewing was referring to his New York Knicks jersey being retired inside Madison Square Garden, the annual host to the Big East Tournament.

He echoed that message during his postgame press conference. However, he was saying so in a different tone. The Georgetown head coach was upset he was stopped multiple times by MSG security.

Here’s a video snippet of his rant.

Ewing said he will have to contact longtime Knicks owner James Dolan, to set the record straight with MSG personnel. It will be needed because the Hoyas’ stay in New York has been extended into Friday. They’ll play in the semifinals against the winner of the Seton Hall-St. John’s game.

Georgetown will be looking for its first Big East tourney title since 2007. With an impressive recruiting class coming in next year, Ewing and Georgetown could be primed for many more extended stays at Madison Square Garden. So it’s best to clear any squabbles with the arena’s staff.
