‘It’s Over’, GCU’s Gabe McGlothan wins 35th Annual College Slam Dunk Contest in stunning fashion

In his final time representing Grand Canyon on the big stage, Gabe McGlothan delivered once again at Global Credit Union Arena.

GCU hosted the 2024 State Farm College Slam Dunk and 3-Point Championships on Thursday. McGlothan was one of nine participants in the Slam Dunk Contest, which also included Arizona Wildcats forward Keshad Johnson.

A series of dunks secured the victory for McGlothan, capping it off with a buzzer-beating reverse slam.

Coming off a monumental season with Grand Canyon, McGlothan has forever solidified his name in the GCU history books.

The Lopes secured their first-ever NCAA Tournament victory in the team’s Division I history with a Round of 64 win against Saint Mary’s.

McGlothan put together a legendary career at GCU and finished it off in winning fashion on Thursday.

Grand Canyon University continues to host major events in the Valley this week and has more to go heading into the weekend.
