March Madness gives every student-athlete the stage to raise their profile and sometimes earn some money off their name, image and likeness (NIL).

One person who took advantage of that opportunity to cash in was San Diego State guard Lamont Butler, as he announced on Instagram on Monday that he signed a NIL deal with Urban Outfitters.

This is at least the second NIL deal Butler has received, as he previously promoted Level Select over the weekend.

@urbanoutfitters has Game Winning Apparel!” Butler wrote on his Instagram post.

If you didn’t know who Butler was before the NCAA Tournament, now you surely do. He was front and center Saturday night when his buzzer-beating basket sent the Aztecs to the title game being held on Monday night in Houston, Texas, against the UConn Huskies.

In a tight Final Four game against Florida Atlantic, Butler had the ball in his hands as time was winding down. With no one seemingly open for a good look, Butler took it himself, went baseline, and pulled up for a jumper with barely any precious time to waste. He just got the shot off.

What happened next was pandemonium as his teammates mobbed Butler in sheer elation.

Butler has come up huge in the Aztecs’ last two victories.

Before their win against Florida Atlantic, Butler especially came up big in the Aztecs’ controversial win over Creighton last week. He scored 18 points on a very efficient 8-of-11 shooting from the field, and 2-of-2 from three-point range.

In his last two games in the tournament, Butler has averaged 13.5 points on 3-for-3 shooting from three-point range. We’ll get to see if Butler has any more magic left in his holster, but for now, he can take comfort in his new NIL deal with Urban Outfitters.
