After re-signing one of their top offensive linemen in Brandon Revenberg, the Hamilton Tiger-Cats continued their focus on keeping their o-line in place.

The team announced that they were re-signing offensive linemen Brandon Kemp and Jakub Szott to two-year contracts that will keep in Hamilton through the 2025 season.

Kemp made 10 starts for the Tiger-Cats last season. In Week 12, he was a CFL Honour Roll nominee at left tackle against the BC Lions. He played and started in one game in 2022 for Hamilton.

Before the CFL, Kemp played in the NFL for the Tennessee Titans and Indianapolis Colts from 2020-22. He attended Valdosta State, playing in 43 games in five seasons with the Division II school.

Szott suited up for seven games in 2023 making one start for the Tiger-Cats. He has played for four different CFL teams before Hamilton starting in 2021. The Ottawa Redblacks drafted Szott 29th overall in 2020. Other teams he played for include the Winnipeg Blue Bombers, Montreal Alouettes and Saskatchewan Roughriders.

The Toronto native played for the McMaster Marauder during his college years. He was a Second-Team All-OUA selection in 2019. For his college career, Szott played 37 games.

Hamilton’s signings and re-signings are up to 13 in the last couple of weeks. The team finished the 2023 season 8-10 overall losing in the East Semi-Final.
