In 2017, Lubin  challenged Jermell Charlo for a 154-pound title. It didn't last long. Charlo timed Lubin trying to clinch and took him out with a one-round knockout.

The 27 year old American Boxer challenged for the WBC super welterweight title in 2017 and suffered a crushing defeat. Lubin made his  professional debut in 2013 and is  scheduled to face Jesus Ramos Jr in the 12-round super welterweight co-feature to Canelo Alvarez vs. Jermell Charlo undisputed supermiddlewieght fight this coming Saturday at the T- Mobile Arena in Las Vegas.

“I’m happy to be back after just fighting in June. Activity brings the best out of me. I’ve got a young opponent in front of me who’s hungry, but I’m hungry as well. It’s gonna be a firefight," said Lubin(25-2) in media statements.

“This is personal, but not against Ramos. It’s personal for myself because I see how people are underestimating me. It’s all fuel to my fire. I’m here to make a statement as well. The sky’s the limit for me after this," he said.

Ramos Jr, 22, from Casa Grande in Arizona will be taking a step up in class against fellow lefty Lubin of Kissimmee in Florida.

“I’m happy to be here. There’s a lot of talent on this stage. It’s a stacked card of explosive fights and I’m blessed to be a part of it , " said Ramos Jr(20-0).

“It’s really important that I dominate because Lubin is so tough and has given guys like Sebastian Fundora a lot of trouble. It would be a big statement and a big win for my resume," added Ramos.

“He’s a good fighter and I know he had a strong camp. He looks ready. So I’m ready for the best version of Lubin. We’ll see what happens on Saturday night.

“I’m looking to showcase my talent. I’ve seen people say that I don’t have a lot of ring IQ, so I’m looking to show that and other dimensions to my game. It’s gonna be a new Jesus Ramos. It’s not really about exposing Lubin, but more about displaying my talent."
