In an interesting turn of events, the New York Giants recently re-signed their former first-round draft pick from 2009, wide receiver Hakeem Nicks.

So how did the Giants’ 2014 first-round draft pick and top wide receiver on the team, Odell Beckham Jr. welcome the former superstar?

The two broke the ice by measuring their size of hands against each other. According to OBJ, it appears his and Nicks’ hands are “about the same.”

Although, it appears Nicks said his hands were slightly bigger.

Both receivers have unusually large mitts, and we have witnessed thm both making some incredible one-handed grabs throughout their careers. Nevertheless, a hand-size contest seems a bit of a strange way for Beckham to welcome back the former Giant.

With wide receiver Victor Cruz placed on season-ending IR, the Giants must have felt the need to enhance its receiving corps beyond Rueben Randle and Dwayne Harris.

Hopefully Nicks, at only 27-years old, will be able to reestablish himself and reproduce those stellar numbers he did from his 2010-2011 standout seasons when he totaled 155 catches for 2,244 yards and 18 touchdowns.

With the Giants having the prime opportunity to now seize control of the NFC East, Nicks and those abnormally large hands of his need to be more impressive than his scoreless 2013 campaign that found him cut at the end of the season.

If anything, it should be interesting to see what type of camaraderie, if any, develops between the current big man on campus and the new kid at the lunch table.
