Former Raven Terrence Cody convicted of animal cruelty

Former Baltimore Ravens defensive tackle Terrence Cody was convicted on nine misdemeanor counts involving the deaths of a dog he owned.

Cody was convicted of charges including aggravated animal cruelty and neglect, illegal possession and neglect of an alligator, and possession of marijuana.

The 27-year-old Cody could be facing up to three years in prison, but he was able to avoid convictions on two other felony counts.

Cody, a former second-round pick out of Alabama by the Ravens in the 2010 NFL Draft, played 57 games with the Ravens, recording 46 career tackles for the team.

Cody was cut by the Ravens this past January after the allegations of animal cruelty came to light.
