15 amazing stats from the Warriors' historical start

The defending champion Golden State Warriors are on a mission early this season. At 4-0 through the first week of the campaign, the goal is clear here. Not only is Golden State looking to put up yet another historical season, it's out to prove detractors wrong.

Following a 50-point win over the Memphis Grizzlies on Monday, there are a whole bunch of eye-opening stats surrounding the NBA's best team. Let's look at 15 of them below.

1. Stephen Curry has scored 148 points on 84 shots for an average of 1.8 points per shot. His point total through four games is second to only Michael Jordan over the past 40 years.

2. Curry has hit 29-of-41 attempts (72 percent) from inside the three-point line this year. This has him shooting at a cool 60 percent from the field through four games.

3. Golden State held Memphis to 26-of-96 shooting (27 percent) on Monday. As a team, the defending champs had six more assists than the Grizzlies had field goals in the game.

4. After falling down 22-19 late in the first quarter against Memphis, Golden State put up a 74-27 run prior to sitting its starters for the final stanza.

5. In Monday's 50-point win over the Memphis Grizzlies, Golden State's bench outscored the Grizzlies starters to the tune of 45-33.

6. The 50-point win against Memphis was Golden State's largest margin of victory since it defeated the Sacramento Kings 153-91 on November 2, 1991, which was 24 years ago to the day.

7. Golden State has won its first four games by a combined 100 points. Second on this all-time list is the 1961-62 Boston Celtics at 99. Heck, the 72-win Chicago Bulls squad of 1995-96 won its first four games by a combined 63 points.

8. Draymond Green has a plus-minus of 95 in four games. That's an average of nearly 24 points per game. For comparison's sake, Russell Westbrook led the Association in this category last year at 11.0. Curry was second on a 67-win Warriors team at under 10.

9. On Monday against the Grizzlies, all 13 members of the Warriors scored while grabbing at least one rebound and/or dishing out at least one assist. Its bench put up six more field goals than Memphis' starters.

10. Green and Curry are shooting a combined 31-of-59 (53 percent) from three-point range this season. Those 31 combined three pointers are more than all but six teams have made in total this year.

11. The Warriors lead the NBA in offensive rating (115.2), scoring (119.0), assists (28.3) and three-pointers made (46). Their defense is first in the Association with an 88.5 rating and second in field-goal percentage allowed (38).

12. Golden State earned its 20th consecutive regular season home win on Monday, breaking the franchise record it set last year. In fact, the Warriors are 39-1 in their past 40 games at Oracle Arena. Their only blemish was an overtime loss to the Chicago Bulls last season.

13. During that 20-game home winning streak, Golden State is outscoring its opponents by an average of 14.5 points per outing.

14. All four of the Warriors wins on the season have come against Western Conference Playoff teams from a season ago. After taking on the Los Angeles Clippers on Wednesday, 16 of their next 23 games are against squads that failed to finish over .500 a year ago.

15. Now that we know the Warriors' record under Luke Walton counts on Steve Kerr's coaching resume, here's an amazing stat. Postseason included, Golden State is 87-20 since Kerr's debut last year. That's an amazing .813 winning percentage.
