WBA Super Welterweight World Champion Miguel Cotto and Mech Tech Institute President Mr. Edwin Colon presented two scholarships in the technical school's Mechanical Fuel Injection & Body Repair & Painting programs to Puerto Rican student Harold D. Ruiz Beltran from Freedom High School in Orlando, Florida.
Hundreds of students assembled to catch a glimpse of the Puerto Rican champion and see him present the scholarships. Cotto called Orlando's Mech Tech Institute home for the past eight weeks while he prepared for his May 5 mega-fight against Floyd Mayweather at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, Nev. which will be produced and distributed live by HBO Pay-Per-View®.
